Burritos for nothing

Boloco is giving away burritos today until 8 PM to benefit the Playmakers program, which trains people who are helping kids deal with some pretty tough circumstances. Stop by their restaurant at 1940 Beacon Street in Cleveland Circle.

Harvard may take its time with all the property it owns, but not McDonald’s. The rebuilt, slightly relocated fast-food emporium on Western Avenue is already open, with the official festivities happening tomorrow, March 3 at 10AM.

Adios to Big City, Hola to Patron’s

Big City, the Allston pool hall at the corner of Brighton and Harvard Avenues, is going to become Patron’s Mexican Kitchen & Watering Hole, according to Boston Magazine. No mention in the article if the cue balls will disappear, or if it is just a menu change.

They’re serving frozen yogurt in hell

The Licensing Board will consider the application of Dante’s Frozen Yogurt for a common victualer’s license on Wednesday, February 8.  They hope to operate out of 1236 Commonwealth Avenue, Allston with hours of 12 noon to 9 PM.  I was hoping the manager would be named Beatrice, but no such luck.
