Rio is all flesh and blood, with one small addition. To mark his 5th birthday today, my partner and me accompanied our four-footed pal and his owners, who live across the street, to the Boston Animal Control site in Roslindale. There he was outfitted with a microchip. For $20 you get a high-tech identifier that will let any rescue center or kennel that has a scanner to find out your name and phone number. It’s a great deal and provides lots of peace of mind, especially if your canine likes to roam free occasionally, as Rio does. Happy Birthday Rio!

Puppy love
Chloe, who disappeared from Ringer Park back in February, was re-united with her owner about a week later. A woman from Brookline was able to take custody of the lost canine and contact the owner. I have been meaning to post this happy ending for a while, thanks to Abigail Furey for the update.

Lost Puppy
This dog ran away from Ringer Park on Friday, February 10 and was last seen on Harvard Avenue and Cambridge Street. She answers to the name Chloe and is a rescue dog, recently arrived from Puerto Rico. Chloe is eight months old, weighs about 30 pounds and is a Doberman-looking mix. She also has a microchip embedded in her. If you have any information, please contact her owner, Elise, at 908-461-3852.
